CAXA Elements - Loading

CAXA Elements - Loading

(OP)
Hi,

I've been trying to use the CAXA elements (axisym elements for asym loads) to simulate pure bending on a threaded connection, But I can't seem to get the loading to work properly.

I have searched the documentation but there is nothing useful there. I read a paper saying that they used Surface Traction, but when I tried ABAQUS issued a message about the incompatibility of this load regarding such element.

Did anyone ever use such elements?

I need a very refined mesh for the irregular thread profile, so a 3D model is out of question.

Thanks a lot, Walter.
