What is the step by step procedure for VSWR antenna qualifiaction?

What is the step by step procedure for VSWR antenna qualifiaction?

(OP)
Hi - new user here:Great Forum:

I have some experience in testing Antenna systems for VSWR. However I may be a little rusty. What I'd like to see is a fairly concise high-level view of the proper steps for testing a VHF system for antenna and signal quality, using VSWR.

I have:

REPEATER->Duplexer->75FootCable->QuarterWaveAntenna

My procedure would be:
1. Place SWR meter at the antenna coupling as::
75footcable<-->SWRMeter<-->ShortKnownCable<-->Antenna System
---- Result is the reading direct for antenna reflected power, recording the reading and moving on to #2.
2. Place SWR meter between duplexer and 75FootCable as::
Duplexer<-->SWRMeter<-->75FootCable
---- Result compared to reading #1 is considered to be the quality of the cable+antenna circuit?
3. Place SWR Meter between REPEATER and Duplexer as::
REPEATER<-->SWRMeter<-->Duplexer
---- Resultant reading would validate the circuit
4. Various other tests such as intermediate tests within the external connecting cables of the dupelxer, or other various tests to locate loose or inadequate cable.

The tester will have only a VSWR power meter to perform the tests, spare cables and antennas.

My goal is then to locate by deterministic methods which component is cause the high VSWR between the duplexer and 75footCable+antenna.

Sorry for the lenght of this post, but I want to be clear in my goal. THANKS.
