hi guys,
Could any of you help me with calcs for FOS for pad eye. how do you calculate the area of tension to get FOS.

The 13th Edition AISC steel deign manual has a small section in the commentary addressing pad eye design (structural steel only).  OSHA also specifies the minimum factor of safety for certain conditions with connections carrying people, etc...
