Extrude command - Limitations of NX5 vs I-deas 12...
Extrude command - Limitations of NX5 vs I-deas 12...
(OP)
Just an observation that NX5 is a bit limited in terms of adding draft with the extrude command.
It does not seem possible to independently vary the draft parameters of each sketch curve as was possible in I-deas.
This can be irritating when modeling half a symmetric part with draft extruded from the sketch plane, because when it comes to mirroring over the resultant solid, the whole perimeter of the sketch will have draft and there is no way to set the angle of faces parallel to the mirror plane to be 0 degrees.
This is not a major issue just another additioal feature step on the tree to add in the draft later on.
Any news on this - plans to expand the extrude with draft in newer versions of NX?

-> Draft from section
-> Angle Option multiple
--->screen and list otions at the walls

So for my part I used the asymmetric with equal angles... (just with equally different drafed faces from the section...!)
Thanks very much - I thought the option would be there somewhere...
