Solid Edge Hole Table

Solid Edge Hole Table

Solid Edge Hole Table

(OP)
Chaps and chapesses,

Please help!! I am getting rather annoyed by the hole table function in Solid Edge!!

Basically, one of our components has an array of holes patterned around the outside of a cylindrical tube.

Having done a detail view from outside of the cylinder of the pattern, I have then tried to select all of the holes using the hole table command to display just their diameters, but the only ones it will allow to be selected are those perpendicular to the view (i.e. those that form perfect circles in the view.

Now I am aware that in the display they will present as a strange elliptical sort of form and not the true circle they are, but they were still formed in the model as holes. Is there any way of forcing the hole table to take into account that they are holes (made using the hole command and then patterned) and to bring through the data from the model rather than the constantly changing radii it will sees for each non-perpendicular hole in the view?

Using a hole note in a Callout annotation, it picks up the hole diameter without a problem.

Thanks

Jon

RE: Solid Edge Hole Table

You answered your own question. You have to use call outs.

Most draft commands work from the 2D data in the view not the model. That is way that Edge works. The hole table will also not recognize holes made with cutouts instead of the hole feature :(

This might be an application for PMI dimensions...
