I'm trying to find a documented source/design manual for determining the minimum cover for a 2" copper water service (type K).  I'm not concerned with frost, only traffic loadings.  Copper.org states 1" copper can be placed under 1.5" of bituminous pavement for snow removal systems as long as the pipe bedding is properly compacted....but I'm looking for more detailed design and supporting information.

RE: Minimum cover for 2" copper service

1.5 feet sounds OK but if there are other utilities such as natural gas, underground electric, or storm sewer which are usually about that same depth you may want to adjust yours so you don't conflict unnecessarily.
