Hi everyone!

Just wanted to ask which program is easier to learn catia V5 or pro/E

Karl

RE: which is easier to learn catia v5 or pro/E?

Hi,
i have used Pro/E for long time and it is easy to used. But after using VATIA V5 i realize that this is more easier then Pro/E, it has more sophisticated dialog menus.
Any suggestion?

cheers

RE: which is easier to learn catia v5 or pro/E?

Want my honest opinion?

Neither... but if I had to pick one of the two I would be forced to say Catia.

I have used both, I was a Pro-E user for some time, and always hated how un-intuitive it was.  Yes it was a very capable package and I could do what i wanted but had lots to be desired in the way of the user interface.  Not the most productive format I have ever seen.

Catia, is in the same boat for the most part, however it is a bit eaier to use, and the UI layout is much easier to access without commands buried 15 menu clicks deep (okay so I am exaggerating a LITTLE)

Jon

both are about the same for basic stuff, like 3D solids, drafting, etc. CATIA is a little easier since it's newer. Pro-E is easier since it doesn't contain as many niche products.

the key is to find a good instructor/mentor! I'm not a big fan on the self-teaching stuff when learning something new.
