Flex an Assembly in SW2009

Flex an Assembly in SW2009

(OP)
I have some nested tubes in an assembly. (Picture a coaxial cable.)

I'm looking for a way to use the Flex feature efficiently so they will bend as a group.

Is there a better way than defining a Flex feature in each of the components?

What would you recommend?

Thanks!

RE: Flex an Assembly in SW2009

Save the nested tube assy as a part, and then apply the Flex.

Could you use the Sweep function in the creation of the tubes instead of the Flex afterwards?

RE: Flex an Assembly in SW2009

I tried a example of saving an assembly as a part and I got the template dialog box for making a new item. The example was not saved as anything.

RE: Flex an Assembly in SW2009

energised ... open just a simple assy (nothing else open) and try again.
