Caesar II SIF help

Caesar II SIF help

Caesar II SIF help

(OP)
Hey everybody.  I'm currently working on a pipe run in Caesar II 5.10 that basically has two pipes branching off from the main pipe at a certain intersection.  Essentially, it's a four way tee or intersection.

However, when I click on Start Run it gives me a warning about not being able to calculate the SIFs for 4 pipes coming into this node.  I didn't think this was such a big deal since I could just go to B31.1 and calculate them by hand and use those values.  Then I came to realize that there isn't any calculations for this type of intersection.

Anybody know what to do in this situation or have run into it before?

RE: Caesar II SIF help

If the branches are small compared to the header you could consider it as two tees, 1mm apart on the header and then allow Caesar to assign the usual sif's to each.

If the braches are near to or same as the header size, you might get some help from the vendor, or think about F.E. analysis to derive an sif.

Thanks C2it.

They are smaller in comparison to each other.  I will try the 1mm apart from each other, never thought of that.
