Criteria to Retire a Storage Tank

Criteria to Retire a Storage Tank

Criteria to Retire a Storage Tank

(OP)
Is there any internet or industry reference for retiring a flat bottomed liquid storage tank ??

It seems that accountants and MBAs want to keep some of these zombies alive forever.

The job of evaluating these old hulks can be done by the next green engineer that walks in the door.

Do any of the API codes provide definitive guidance ?

RE: Criteria to Retire a Storage Tank

Presumably the usual practice/attitude relates ensuring of the identity and with that annexed history, status of any/all happenings, works performed on this particular equipment.
This continues until and unless the site purpose is changed and either the tank gets removed/scrapped and instead new one(s)of different service(s)and properties get built on the same location!

Best Regards
