A1 CS Channels

A1 CS Channels

(OP)
Hello,

I downloaded the ANSI profiles for weldments from the SW library.

Amongst them, I found the "Al CS Channel (squared ends)" profiles. the problem is that none of the suppliers I usually work with have it. After a quick search on the web, I have found no informations about a "Al CS Channel (squared ends)" weldment profile.

Has anyone ever heard of this profile in the "real" world? Or even on the internet?

Thank you.

RE: A1 CS Channels

Firstly, it's not A1 (A-one), it's Al (Aluminum).

The CS just refers to Channel and Square ends.

Most suppliers seem to carry the square end (parallel leg with no radius at the tip) aluminum channel, as opposed to the "standard" structural steel C type which has tapered legs with a radius at the inner tips. I assume the CS has become the undocumented standard and is no longer referred to as CS.

My Russell Drummond handbook certainly appears to support that.
