HI. I was wondering does anyone know the following:
1. Who is the "father" of post tensioning. Who came up with the theory behind it?
2. Where was it first put to use? I know it was 1957 (from FAQ forum) and in the USA, but not where.

Eugene Freyssinet proposed the method of overcoming prestress losses through the use of high-strenght steel cables. TY Lin developed the load-balancing method, which simplified the design effort.
