deep drawn steel sheet replacement
deep drawn steel sheet replacement
(OP)
I am looking for a cheap material to replace deep drawn steel sheet in a product. Steel sheet is coated with ceramic coating and used in high temperature applicatioins. I have tried ceramic cloth ( metal reinforced and moulded in different shapes with the help of fiberglass). It works almost same as ceramic coated steel sheet but dimensional tolerances are not precise.
Is there any other material with same characteristics (high melting point 1300C, mouldable in different shapes)which i could use?

It is exposed to liquid metal for short time. it will be used once. All it needs to do is to hold liquid metal for three to five minutes in a samll mold. (steel sheet, ceramic cloth or some other )
arunmrao::cast iron may be considered to be the cheapest material. But in the absence of more details, it is very difficult for anyone to suggest alternatives.
Cast iron cant stamped (deep drawn steel sheet is thin , less than 1mm in diameter) . Current product is stamped with special tooling to get the right shape and then coated with ceramic coating.
