Hod Do I Get 2 Mass Property Values in my Part Properties

Hod Do I Get 2 Mass Property Values in my Part Properties

(OP)
Hi, I am trying to add an imperial mass property field to my property tab. i want this along the metric value field that i already have, this is being taken from the sw-mass.

What i am trying to achieve is 2 fields within my drawing template, 1 that gives the mass in KG and a 2nd filed that gives me the mass in LBS.

I've tried to do this with using an equation within the part but this method is not automatic if you are using the custom property tab builder.

Not sure if this is a simple procedure, any suggestions

RE: Hod Do I Get 2 Mass Property Values in my Part Properties

If you display the mass/weight of the part it shows up in the document's units (and the drawing's units can be different from the part's units).  I haven't tried it, but what if you were to display dual units in your drawing; would this display the mass/weight in both sets of units?

on the drawing template i have a field that links into my part i.e $PRPSHEET:{EST.WEIGHT} this gives me the mass weight from my custom property field and the units that it is displayed in is taken from the document units setting.

think what i am looking for is a similar think to this but one that displays in kgs and the other lbs

thanks

RE: Hod Do I Get 2 Mass Property Values in my Part Properties

There are two ways that I know of to do this.
Using a DT > thread559-147409: kg ----> lb
Using Equations > thread559-199796: Problem useing mass prop volume in a DT or Equation?

I would use the Equations method. Once the metric global variable has been created in one equation, another equation can be created to convert to Imperial. The equation variables can then be accessed in the model properties to create properties which can then be linked in the drawing notes, or linked to the drawing notes directly.
