How to link properties with drafting border?
How to link properties with drafting border?
(OP)
Somebody here within the company made some own drafting borders which we must use. But the drawing properties are not matched to the drafting border, so we need to fill in the border by adding text manually. That isn't the way it should me used in my opinion.
How do we link/map the drawing properties (for instance: material properties, file name, author, date, revision) with text in the drafting border?
Thanks in advance!

RE: How to link properties with drafting border?
What you should do then is create drawing templates that use the borders with attribute based text. If perhaps you don't already know how do do this you could simply check out the drawing templates supplied with NX out of the box.
Now once you have that working then you have a couple of ways to avoid duplication of typing. One is to use the same named attributes in the component as are used in the drawing file so that you can simply copy and paste them across. The other is to create a parts list including the attribute based information from the other file such as the material and description which is added to the template drawing and will provide a linked reference to those attributes from the component. I use the second option as you can see on the example below from my website.

I could go into more detail but you haven't told us what version you're using and things do change slightly form one to the next.
What many people specifically want is something else slightly more traditional but with the linked reference to the other file. It is actually achievable but rather inconvenient to do, anything but automatic and not easily maintainable. You can search the forum for more information as these questions are quite frequently asked, however if you're asking for help that includes advice then mine is to keep it simple and use the tools that the system supports best.
