EDIT AUTO-BALLOON ATTRIBUTES
EDIT AUTO-BALLOON ATTRIBUTES
(OP)
Hello
In NX5 I need to know how to edit balloon styles & the attributes it reads.
I have the BILL OF MATERIAL (parts list) in the main assembly drawing & the title block in the detail drawing reading the file name of each detail (assembled prt file component). This way I don't have to fill out another attribute for the detail/file # & it's less chance of human error. The problem is the balloons in the main assembly drawing still want a "DET#" attribute to read. How can I get the balloons to read the file name of an assembled component & even better the last three digits (009) of a file name like "11496-009.prt" ?
Thanks in advance.
James

My ideal choice would be to show the last three digits in the detail drawing title block for detail #, a column in the Parts List & in the balloons associated with that Parts List. Although, I can live with the entire file name being shown in the detail drawing & Parts List if need be.
I don't have a lot of experience in UG drafting. I don't know exactly what an "ID symbol" is.
