Hi guys,
I've got a rotary pump which has a built in bypass valve and is normally used in beverage machines. You can set the bypass valve to lower the maximum pressure to pretty much whatever value you want, but it still pumps a lot of water, somewhere in the range of 170L/h. It is powered by a small 250W motor with a start capacitor (single phase obviously).
Now I'd like to control the pressure fully, but without touching the bypass valve and while the pump is working. The range that interests me is 1-9bar with precise control (most likely digital). Is there any pump on the market that would be suitable for this?

Slightly more seriously a capacitor start motor is not compatible with a VFD. If you do want to go the VFD route you would have much better options if you have a three phase motor. Of course, changing the motor might make the economics of using the VFD fall apart...

Probably yes, have you contacted any manufacturers / sellers of this pump type - always a good place to start.

So, keep the pump, change the motor and add a VFD.
