New Forum - Scope?

New Forum - Scope?

New Forum - Scope?

(OP)
Well, I figured I'd start with a post about the scope of this new forum. Until now most tank questions have been posted on the API Code Issues forum. That can be a bit restrictive if tanks are designed and fabricated to non-API standards, so as I see it the relationship between this forum and the API Code Issues one will be similar to that of the Piping  forum and Boiler and Pressure Vessel forum to the ASME Code Issues forum.

So... just to start a list of tank standards which might be addressed in this forum:
API 12, 510, 570, 620, 650, 653
AWWA
UL
NFPA
DOT?

Other countries, jurisdictions?

RE: New Forum - Scope?

I think that this will be a great new forum.

My suggestion is to simply include all liquid storage devices that operate under 15 psig/1 barg.

(In other words, everything except coded pressure vessels)

MJC-

You meant to say "... with a MAWP less than 15 psig / 1 barg" right? Just because we operate vacuum columns under a less than perfect vacuum doesn't make them not be vessels where the ASME B&PV criteria is used...
