PDMWorks Workgroup-Is it Dead?

PDMWorks Workgroup-Is it Dead?

PDMWorks Workgroup-Is it Dead?

(OP)
Hi,
I did a quick review of "What's New" in 2010 and and notice hardly nothing for Workgroup. I believe 2 items. Is Workgroup a dead piece SW software? I did find a lot of items for Enterprise.

RE: PDMWorks Workgroup-Is it Dead?

I don't believe SW has killed Workgroup, but they do appear to be causing atrophy of the product in favour of Enterprise.

RE: PDMWorks Workgroup-Is it Dead?

I wouldn't be surprised if they kill support for it in the next two releases. Wonder what that will do to all of us Workgroup users. Probably trap us in a version of software.

SW should revamp Workgroup and call it Enterprise Lite and flow down some of the basics enhancements.

AS if it's not already enough of a tease of what we could be doing if our companies would just spend some money. noevil

I thought that SW already announced that they were phasing out Workgroups?  At least that what I have been hearing from my VAR for quite some time.

can you send a link where this announcement was made?

RE: PDMWorks Workgroup-Is it Dead?

I hope PDM Workgroup isn't dead.  A small company like mine doesn't have the money or the need for PDM Enterprise.

RE: PDMWorks Workgroup-Is it Dead?

Scalability is important, but they don't need to worry about it because they can cater to the big guys.  However, I think they are in trouble with Enterprise over the long run.  Just look at the solidworks gold partnets, and one can see a trend.
