Slow Copy/Paste

Slow Copy/Paste

Slow Copy/Paste

(OP)
Hello,

I can't figure out why when I copy something, inside autocad it takes up to 10 seconds for it to paste?

RE: Slow Copy/Paste

It could be the information is too large.

RE: Slow Copy/Paste

If your current session with AutoCAD has been going for some time, and if you've done a number of copy & pastes, it may simply be time to close AutoCAD and restart.

AutoCAD utilizes many temporary files and is not the best at cleaning up those files.  I have found that simply closing AUtoCAD and restarting speeds up the AutoCAD environment.

RE: Slow Copy/Paste

I will make a guess that you are using the 2008 version.  This had a bug with the plot scales going crazy.

See http://www.thecadgeek.com/blog/2007/09/26/perpetual-annotation-scale-list/

Command: -SCALELISTEDIT
Enter option [?/Add/Delete/Reset/Exit] <Add>: Reset
Reset scale list to defaults? [Yes/No] <No>: Yes
Scale list reset to default entries.
Enter option [?/Add/Delete/Reset/Exit] <Add>: Exit

Took me a while to figure out when it happened to me.
