API Valve Trims

(OP)
Can anyone tell me the conventions used for Trim combination numbers for material descriptions in API 602, Table 11?  For example, trim 12 specifies stem material as 18Cr-8Ni-Mo.  Do these imply maximum percent compositions or exact ratios?  I found a spec sheet for AISI 316 that lists compositon as max 18%Cr, 10-14% Ni, and max 3% Mo.  Would that satisfy Trim 12 stem requirements?  Is there a better way to determine if materials meet Trim 12 requirements than looking up the specifications for each component, like a cheat sheet somewhere?

RE: API Valve Trims

The ASME II Table D lists the 18Cr-8Ni-Mo as Austenitic Stailess Steel grade 316L.
