Effects of harmonics

(OP)
What levels V(THD)are above industry standards in a substation with a capacitor bank. What level of harmonics is acceptable.

I am looking into what levels of harmonics (w/o a study) that can we valadate a need to install a hi-pass filter, in the cap bank curcuit. Im currently researching IEEE 519-1992 but need a little assistance. Section 6.5 refers you to IEEE Std 18-1992 [4] which gives limitations on voltage, current, and reactive power for capacitor banks. These can be used to determine the maximum allow able harmonic levels. I dont have (membership)access to IEEE Std 18-1992  doucment download only the abstract. If there is simular info in IEEE 519 can anyone direct me please.

Marmite, thank you for the link.  However since I have started knocking down the pages of IEEE 519-1992, I wanted to exhaust 519 before moving on to another document. I found what I was searching for because of it. The objectives of the current limits are to limit the maximum individual frequency voltage harmonic to 3% of the fundamental and the voltage THD to 5% for systems without a major parallel resonance at one of the injected harmonic frequencies. Section 10. Thank U much!

jghirst - You really want me to pay for something I can find free? lol!!~ thanks for the link, I appreciate it! On second thought I would really appreciate if you would pay the $106 for the publication for me! Yea I know - you'll fax me the money, I get it! shocker!

And rightfully so!
