Wind Farm Tour

Wind Farm Tour

(OP)
Hi everyone. I'm up in Northeast US and have the opportunity to go on a GE wind farm / factory tour tomorrow.

Is there anything in particular to pay attention to? I'm mainly interested in the magnetics and conversions to the grid, but I have no familiarity with the systems.

I've heard lots about loud noise at wind sites, which I hope to experience (hopefully there is a healthy wind).

Any tips are appreciated, I'll try to post pictures/video's if possible of the wind site as they will let us within 500 feet of the turbines.

Regards,
Jim

Er, you could ask about the electrical environment within the tower and nacelle.
I understand it is a bit more demanding than many other instrument environments.
