Copy draw geometry to Part Design (space)

I have lots of Legacy drawings to model into 3d in Catia V5. In Catia V4 I could build a plane in space from a draw view by Picking the draw text (txtd) whle in the plane function.I could then use DRW to SPC to get 2d geometry into space. In Cat V5 I can copy the draw geometry then paste it into a Sketch, if I know the exact view plane in advance. Sometimes I can analize points in the 2d to find the view plane definition, but it is not too efficient. Any one else know a good way to get 2d into a Catpart sketch and keep the coordinates?

RE: Copy draw geometry to Part Design (space)

I saw once a demo of a workbench called "2D layout to 3D design" where you could make 2D drawings in catparts and use the geometry to create solids, is was also possible to use existing 2D drawings. I don't know if this could help you but give it a look on catia help docs

RE: Copy draw geometry to Part Design (space)

isolate the view and copy the view and paste on the sketch

Thanks for the response; the Isolating seems to be the best solution for now. I can align views in the sketch if I need. I just discovered the 2d layout for 3d design today and we have a license for it, but it looks like I'll have to study the documentation a little.
