Assembly Component Locations

(OP)
I recently created an assembly requiring multiple components. I am not sure how it happend, but somehow one of the components was created in a different folder than the other components. I would like to keep this assembly file along with its components within the same folder. I moved the file but how can I tell Solidworks where it is? Thanks.

RE: Assembly Component Locations

When you open the assembly SolidWorks will show the message something like "references to component are missed" and let you manually choose the corresponding component in other case the missed components will be suppressed.

You can also use the "Replace" command from the Menu->File->Replace to change the assembly references.

RE: Assembly Component Locations

It depends on where you moved the file.  If you moved the file to the same folder as the assembly, then the assembly will find it.

The fastest fix is to first open the moved file, then open & save any affected drawings and assemblies.
