calculating discharge over control weir

calculating discharge over control weir

(OP)
Hi, Folks,

I was working on the discharge flowing over the weir for the enviormental purpose for the down stream use the flow of 1 cubic meter per second over the control dam.

The dam has a series of channels on the top.  Steel plates on the upstream of these channels can be raised or lowered, controlling the amount of water that is allowed to flow through each of these channels.

Could any one help me to calculate the total flow discharging over the top of the dam, to calculate  the flowing too much or not enough water, the calculation for the flow for each channel open, and a recommendation on the number of channels required to be open in order for us to meet permit conditions.

I will appreciate your help.

Imad
