i am writing a calculation sheet in CSC TEDDS, but their is confussion in units that i face. for example this equation

Tcr=4 x under root(Fc')x(Acp2/Pcp)

if we equate the dimension of this equation they come out to be under root kip-1.

but the code takes the result : Kip-ft.

why so ???

If you take the square root out of the equation, I get that the units should be K-ft.  ACI use root f'c for the tensile stress of concrete, but the units don't change - this obviously plays tricks with the units for something like TEDDS or Mathcad.

Yes, - the square root of f'c is still in psi (or ksi)

It is fairly typical in codes to have equations that are not dimensionally consistent.  That is, the constant must have dimensions that are not shown.  Usually, the definitions of the terms will tell you the correct units for all terms.
