piping stress analsyis of intercoolers placed on springs
(OP)
Hi guys,
I have a two compressors placed on the platform, and beneath the platform there will be multiple intercoolers, which will be resting on the springs. Could any body tell me how I can simulate these intercoolers placed on springs in caesar II.
Secondally, how the natural frequency of the system will be impacted. any suggestions if I have to go for its dyanmic analysis.
Many Thanks for any suggession on this.
Cheers

Use rigid elements to model the intercoolers to the attachment points on the springs. Then input the hangers on the appropriate nodes just like normal.
You can use spring cans or spring hangers... they both behave identically from an analysis point-of-view. If these are existing hangers then you simply enter the installed load and the spring rate on the hanger definition and that is all you have to do. You will need to correctly apportion the weight of the intercoolers on those rigid elements.
Secondally, I know that I have not specified any temperatures or pressure conditions for that. But I don't have much info. till date. however , thanks for your efforts to help me in this
