Velocity cone for booth exhaust

Hi, need to build a velocity cone for a 12" duct from a booth...Has a 2950 cfm inline fan. What are the formulas for the bottom dia and top dia and length? Does it need an internal baffle or just open?

RE: Velocity cone for booth exhaust

Hi chevelle,
At 12" diameter and 2950 CFM you already have a good discharge velocity (3756 FPM). Why do you need a velocity cone then?
What velocity do you think you need?

The fpm is probably enough, but most stacks always have a cone on them, what other option is there if you don't build a cone? A standard cap, would that not restrict flow?

Awesome Inventaguy, i will build that one, way easier than a taper cone. Thanks :)

You are welcome, any time.
