SUPERELEMENT

SUPERELEMENT

SUPERELEMENT

(OP)
Dear Forum Users,

Recently, I have been occupied with static analysis with the use the superelements.
I would like to prepare a model analysis in which superelements (which I call 2-level superelements) are built of other superelements (1-level). The description of Matrix 50 element clearly states that superelements may contain other superelements. Therefore, I claim that the situation is possible.
The definition of superelements does not cause difficulty. However, after doing calculations, I would like to 'go back' (Expansion Pass) to 1-level superelements and obtain complete results. This is a certain difficulty for me.

How can I do this?
Could anyone show me the scheme of an input file doing such calculations?

Thank you in advance for any help.

Kind regards,

POTET

RE: SUPERELEMENT

It is necessary to perform an expansion pass for every tier of superelements you have (ie. if you have two superelements nested in another superlement you must do EXPASS twice).  See Section 10.6 in the Advanced Guide of the Ansys help.
