Basket strainer/filter design and pressure drop calculations inquiry

(OP)
Hi everybody.
I'm involved with oil applications (metering skids) where our costumers oftenly request large basket strainer efficient calculations from us (fluid flow up to 3000 m3/hr). Apart from various vendor catalogues providing info and charts for Dp calculations, could somebody assist me,or even better provide, some solid sources, articles, books handling basket strainer/filter design and pressure drop calculations.
Your help will be highly appreciated!!

RE: Basket strainer/filter design and pressure drop calculations inquiry

Sorry, but most of what I would refer you to is vendor literature.  The DP across the strainer is a function of the design of their internal passages (and valving if it is a duplex) so to me it is not a 'one size fits all' situation.

There is a curve in "Perry's chemical engineering handbook" that I used it before to check some vendor informations. The DP was a function of "open area"(My handbook is not handy now).
