X52 Composition to pass a SSC test

X52 Composition to pass a SSC test

(OP)
hello,
I have a request for a client to do X52 API PSL2 QT for sour service. And the pipes have to pass the HIC and the SSC test. I have read that the minimum S and Cu content are important to have good results. And the calcium treatment for the sulfur globulization.
Any other suggestion? we have never done before the SSC test, but we are sill in time to modified composition heat treatment..etc to have the best results.
Thank you

RE: X52 Composition to pass a SSC test

It may be best to write out the specific test you are looking for (I'm in general not too crazy about acronyms, and this/confusion could be one reason why!)  If you were however to do a web search with the keywords say "SCC sour service", I suspect you might get many more hits!

RE: X52 Composition to pass a SSC test

The chemical composition requirements of Table H.1 in API 5L/ISO 3183 are designed to maximise the likelihood of passing an SSC and HIC test. If you want to get deeper behind those specified limits, there are a substantial number of NACE papers on composition and processing effects on HIC and SSC.  Here is a selection:
