Schedule Pipe uses

(OP)
Hey Guys,

Just curious what the different recommended uses for the different schedules of pipe are. For example schedule 80 pipe used for high pressure apps and blah blah...but what about schedule 10 and 20...Is there a written standard that says schedule 10 used for this purpose and schedule 20 for these purposes and so on?

RE: Schedule Pipe uses

Yes, normally company's do have this, depending on what the media is and pressure and temperature.

RE: Schedule Pipe uses

I have used quite a bit of sch 10 pipe on low pressure special alloy such as Hastelloy(sp?) or super duplex.

Less material = Less Expensive  (Most of the time)

Zuccus

RE: Schedule Pipe uses

Schedule 10 thinwall is used for sprinkler lines a lot.
