Thickness approval range under EN287-1

Thickness approval range under EN287-1

(OP)
What is the thickness range approval for a multi process pipe butt based on the following:
Process 1 - TIG, 4mm deposition (nb).
Process 2 - MMA, 10.27mm deposition (mb).
Taking the processes individually the approval range for TIG would be 3mm to 8mm, approval range for MMA would be 3mm to 20.54mm.
The main issue I have is that Table 1 states thickness range for mutli process welds as S1+S2 and see Table 4 for approval range. But I was always lead to believe that thickness approval range is to be taken for the individual processes.
