CATIA/SW collaboration
CATIA/SW collaboration
(OP)
Hello everyone:
I have a question regarding SW and CATIA collaboration. We are looking to start a new project which our client is asking us to do in CATIA V5. Our office uses only SW but we do have a satellite office with CATIA capabilities.
We wanted to create most of the basic geometry and parts for this project in SW because it is what we have available and then convert into CATIA. Now, i know that we would have to do the transfer between programs using STEP files. But, is there some sort of plug-in or program that will let us convert from one program to the other while maintaining part history?
My apologies if this is an obviously dumb question or if it has been answered many times before. Any input is appreciated. Thanks in advance.
uGlay.

You will always lose design intent in these transfers.
