Which type of a roller is required to compact a crushed stone base(CRR)specified norminal degree of compaction is 104%by the use of BS-Heavy.Also Iwould like to know how many passes will be required to achieve the spcified degree of compaction?The maximum dry densities achieved from that crushed rock by proctor testing ranges from 2220kg/cum to 2230kg/cum.In addition to this the specification specified two method of Acceptance limits in respect of field density,which are Aggregate apparent density(88) and BS-Heavy(104)which is appropriate and the best among the two methods?Please assist on this.

Without identifying the "type" of aggr. you are dealing with.......
Achieving compaction on base course is dependant on several variables. Aside from the apparent compactive effort (done correctly) moisture would be the beginning hurdle.
It has been my experience you cannot require a certain roller/compactor,"if" in fact that is where you are heading with this line of discussion.
The better compactors I "have seen" operate are a "Rex", and a rather large and "specialized" Caterpillar, with regard to crushed aggr. base. This is not to say there are not one million and one better compactors out there.
Finally, if you are this perplexed on your requirements....perhaps you should request assistance from someone who has first-hand knowledge of what you are trying to establish.
