Is it possible to connect carbon steel pipe to flange with material A240 (Stainless Steel)? Is gasket between them able to prevent Galvanic Corrosion which's possibly occurs?Thank you.

RE: Carbon Steel Pipe connect to A 240 (Stainless Steel)

Depends on the gasket. How well does graphite conduct electricity? How well do you think the studs and nuts conduct?

Realistically, I've never met a materials engineer who thought the galvanic potential was worth noticing. Bottom line: Carbon is bolted to stainless all the time.

It depends more on what the fluid is inside the pipe and the environment on the outside.  When we have that data, we can examine the issue better.
