Hello:

As a new user to Altium I am trying to include information in each schematic symbol that will be used to generate the bill of material.  In Protel 99SE there were fields that were readily available for this information.  In Altium I am able to manually enter say Vendor and Digikey as parameters for the schematic symbol, but what I would like to do is to check off a list of parameters that would be included in each symbol and then fill in those parameters when I update the component properties.  Example:

Vendor
Vendor part number
Manufacturer
Manufacturer part number

I have been unable to find out how to do this via web searches.  I would like to resolve this issue before I progress too far with my schematic and have to do a bunch of data entry at the end.

Any help will be very much appreciated.

Cheers

In a schematic you can use the Parameter Manager to add these to each part.  I have added these parameters to the default part: DXP>Preferences>Schematic>Default Primitives>Part

The best help can be found on Altium's forums... assuming you're a registered user (i.e., not using a cracked version), you often get an answer within an hour or so.
