Can you specify a view point?

Can you specify a view point?

Can you specify a view point?

(OP)
I want to view the vehicle I have modelled from a specific point, at a set distance away from the vehicle.

To do this, I first create a point at say, 50 ft from the vehicle.

Is there a way to specify this as the view point, so the screen shows the vehicle as it looks from 50 ft away?

It would be done somehow with perspective rendering, but I'm not sure how.

RE: Can you specify a view point?

(OP)
This is a follow-up to my own question, but I have a new question.

I was able to view the vehicle from a point, by using the Photo Editor workbench, to create a camera and then a rendering.

But, the results appear to work only with surfaces; the solid model parts don't appear.

Is this the case, or am I doing something wrong?
