In Excel is ther a way to set up a list box as a menu selection to jump from sheet to sheet, i.e. I I set it as contol shift M then it would come up with a list box and the list box woul allow me to jump to the sheet of the name in the lookup box or to open another file.

Yup.  Use the worksheet change event and a case structure to trigger whatever action you want.
