Can I directly get the simulation result without reading .odb?

Can I directly get the simulation result without reading .odb?

(OP)
Normally, after the analysis is done, Abaqus will publish the simulation's detail as the .odb file output. But I am finding the way to get the value from the analysis directly without having to repeatedly reading the result file. Is this possible? if so how can this be done?

thank you!

RE: Can I directly get the simulation result without reading .odb?

If you are just looking for the value of certain field variables you can have them output to the .dat or .fil files. I do this currently to output just the deformation for a couple of node sets, but its not limited to just that (or even one) field output variable.

Look in the "Keywords Reference Manual" under *Node Print (for the dat file output).

Dan
