Polypropylene (Modified - PP)
Polypropylene (Modified - PP)
(OP)
Polypropylene (Modified - PP) field joint coating, flame sprayed, 8mm thick, on epoxy (FBE). There is no adhesive layer between the FBE and the PP (the adhesive property comes from the PP?) the problem is the adhesion between the FBE and the PP in not good, easily comes off.
The test was done without any procedure, just cut the PP and test adhesion - easily comes off
Please can you advise, what is the cause of the failure and also what should be done in the future to prevent this and any test should be carried out.

Given the thermal spray coating method, you might have a chance at mechanical adhesion if you >severely< roughen the epoxy first.
