Re: thread559-48954: Disable Xchangeworks
I had Solidworks installed recently and would like to disable xchangeworks when using autocad.
I've followed one of the thread instructions which was to move all swfileconv files to an unpathed directory.
That worked except when I open a dwg or start a new one I get a menu load failed. It still tries to load the swfileconv menu every time. I have to manually load the acad menu every time.
I also removed acad.rx. Didn't help.
How can I permanently remove this xchangeworks. Wouldn't mind it but it takes forever to load.
Thanks

RE: Disabling xchangeworks from acad 2000
When installing SW after ACAD, there can be program sharing of dll/etc.
The cleanest way to stop this problem is to uninstall both programs, install SW first, then install ACAD.
SW likes to attach itself to ACAD app's.

Unload all the menus with the menuload in Acad, then search for a file called acad.rx, it should be in the AutoCAD2000i/Support folder. I renamed to acad.rx.orig. Either renaming it or deleting should solve the problem.

I think I'll probably have to uninstall both programs as suggested by Ctopher and reinstall them.
Bummer!! I'll need the IS dept. to do it. It'll take forever.
Thanks for all your input.
