Trouble printing ...

Trouble printing ...

Trouble printing ...

(OP)
Having trouble printing from solidworks.  Version 2009 sp 2.1.  Seems to happen on larger drawings, all annotations will print but none of the model views.  Has anyone else experienced this ?

Thanks,

RE: Trouble printing ...

I've seen this before on printers that do not have much memory.  Try turning on "use computer memory" instead of printer memory when setting up the print job.

Any Idea on where I find that option.  Is it set in the printer properties or in XP?

RE: Trouble printing ...

Hi mrkoko,
The setting is under the printer in Windows (I think).  I cannot check becuase the IT Nazis have taken away virtually every thing that can be taken on our network.  Amyway, I recall needing to choose using computer memory for our previous plotter to get all the lines to print (Adobe).  We are now over to laser printers, and a new plotter, all with network cards built in, so this is not an issue for us any more.  Do the missing lines show in print previews?

RE: Trouble printing ...

Probably you should make a roundtrip through DWG. I believe this reduce file size and thus memory usage.
