Alternatives to Aspen Technologies HYSYS

Alternatives to Aspen Technologies HYSYS

Alternatives to Aspen Technologies HYSYS

(OP)
After nearly 2 weeks of voice mail, non-returned e-mail, etc. I finally got a price for a single-user HYSYS license.  I think the numbers must be confidential (or they wouldn't have been so difficult to acquire), but they work out to 5 figures/year.

The project I've been asked to bid on is evaluating outgassing potential for gas well condensate stock tanks.  Does anyone know of a competing product that will do this analysis without that magnitude of up-front commitment?

It is still not clear what are you looking for. Is it process design evaluation, or something else?

It is an outgassing analysis to determine VRU load with various wellsite gaswell condensate tanks.

David, I have no specific experience on gaswell tanks. However, it sounds like light hydrocarbon gas/liquid/sour water service, for which many simulators will be fine.

I suspect you will get a much quicker reply from Lynn McGuire at Winsim or someone at PROII, BRE, VMG (Canada) or Prosim (France).

If these are still to dear, try PD-Plus (Deerhaven).

Ask them if their simulator support this application, and I suspect some will even give you a trial license to test it.

HYSYS will work just fine, as well as other simulators mentioned by CJ Kruger.
I don't know what is the price for HYSYS, but I know you can get the same stuff (or almost the same) from Honeywell - as UNISIM thing, at a much lower cost.

I have been working 7 years with HYSYS, and I never got any bad experience with it.

WinSim is the way to go www.winsim.com

I'll take a look at it, their web site looks reasonable.  It doesn't seem to list the price you pay after the 2 weeks expire, maybe that comes up when you download.  Anyway, I told my client that I couldn't do their job and found out it was only 2 days work anyway so I couldn't have afforded to learn a new software package let alone pay for it.

Or - outsource it to somebody who already has a license...

Best regards

I thought about that too, but I'm not sure there is enough space in this project for both of us (i.e., why the heck would they need me).

ProMax is the way to go. www.bre.com

RE: Alternatives to Aspen Technologies HYSYS

How much does a single user license for ProMax cost?
