Control Valve Repair Shop Condition

Control Valve Repair Shop Condition

Control Valve Repair Shop Condition

(OP)
Is there any specific requirement for a control valve maintenance/test shop with regard to temperature and humidity? Does it need to meet "clean room" criteria? Are you aware of any references (code, standard)?

RE: Control Valve Repair Shop Condition

The general answer is probably no, but then again different questions can come up: nuclear, medical, high accuracy, calibration and in case accreditaion and certification, electronic equipment, humaan protection if tests at high pressure and testing at overpressure, if chemical and or explosives......etc., etc....

What are the purpose, tasks to be performed and 'customers', and will extra qualifications of facilities be paid for by expected income?

Better perhaps to start with a more accurate definition of targets?

The purpose is to upgrade an existing maintenance shop in  a nuclear power plant. Existing shop is not a "Clean Room".  We do not wish to convert it to one if there is not any requirement due to standards/codes or industrial good practices.

RE: Control Valve Repair Shop Condition

.. not my area, but the best advice is probably to have contacted all local authorities before you decide what to do, and in addition use the commonsense test question: 'would I personally be comfortable if the worst happened because of cost cut in engineering, and it became a media issue....?'
