In the standart composition of Hadfield steel the phosphorus contents are max 0,07% wt. I'm finding hard to find information of the efects of these percentage of phosphorus in this alloy. Is there a way of reducing phosphorus content?

RE: Efects of phosphorus in Austenitic Manganese Steel - Hadfield Steel

If you are having arc furnace melting, then it is possible to further reduce P content. In induction furnace practice, the final P will remain unchanged. You must carefully select your charge.

I have not come across any failure due to high P content as long as it in within limits..

I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work." — Thomas Edison
