Cannot Explode subassemblies

Cannot Explode subassemblies

Cannot Explode subassemblies

Any ideas why the explode environment is greyed out when I try to explode subassemblies?

The user can explode the top level assemblies but not any subassemblies beneath the top level.

I have been through and checked for dodgy relationships etc but there is nothing.

Any ideas?

Thanks

RE: Cannot Explode subassemblies

subassemblies can be bound so they do not explode. This can be turned on and off depending on what you want. It is done in the explode environment.

If you can't get there it is a different problem that you may need to call GTAC for.

RE: Cannot Explode subassemblies

Hmm, I hope I did not misinterpret your problem
You can only enter the explode environment for the
active (open) assembly. To explode a subassembly on it's own
you must have that assembly open. Edit in context is not
sufficient because the next higher assembly is still in
control and thus it's .cfg file where exploded views are
stored. From a top level assy you can enter the ERA and
there you have the option (pulldown) to explode this assembly
or a subassembly but as already said you can Edit a subassy
but then the explode command is greyed out.
