Revisiting an old problem topic (Disappearing Patterns)
Revisiting an old problem topic (Disappearing Patterns)
(OP)
My search of the forum dug up a few closed threads regarding patterns with similar issues I'm facing, but none of the suggestions from those threads have fixed my problem.
We use patterns for title blocks, and once a pattern is retrieved and the associated part file is saved, the next time we call up that part, the pattern isn't there anymore.
The UGII_PATDIR variable in ugii_env.dat is correctly pointed to our designated patterns directory (and uncommented), and our pattern files were all saved with "Pattern Data Only" checked in the "File -> Options -> Save Options" menu.
We never had this problem when we were using NX3 (unix), but ever since we recently upgraded to NX5 (win) to stay on par with GM, the problem persists.
I've also noticed that even though the UGII_PATDIR variable is set to our designated patterns directory, when we choose "Format -> Pattern -> Retrieve Pattern", the default directory shows a subfolder buried in the GM Toolkit folder tree, not our user-created patterns folder. Could something in the GMToolkit be forcing this and/or causing our problem?
Is there anywhere in the Customer Defaults where this can be set?
Any other suggestions?
TIA

He is suggesting that you right click on My Computer, Propertis, Advanced tab, Environment variables and create a User Environment variable UGII_PATDIR that points to where you have your formats.
To see if the GM Toolkit is changing things, open the ssylog and search for UGII_PATDIR and see where it is pointing.

Sorry to sound negative but it sounds like something is not installed right with the toolkit and I wouldn't wish to give you a bum steer by advising you blindly to do too much.
