Linking title block with properties from different parts

Linking title block with properties from different parts

Linking title block with properties from different parts

(OP)
Hello,

Let's say I have a drawing with a title block that will give the weight of the entire assembly as well as several of the parts. I want this title block to be filled in automatically using the custom properties from the assy and parts. How do I tell the title block to reference the custom props of a specific part or assy? Hope I am making sense. Thanks.

RE: Linking title block with properties from different parts

Hi,

You can create the Note in the Title Block and refer it to the Drawing View's underlying Model's Custom property Field (The Top Level Assembly in your case). When select the Note and click "Link To Property" button in the Note PMPage. Next select "Model in view specified in sheet properties" option and select required custom property from the List.

Unfortunally I'm not sure how to link th custom property from the Assembly's component to the Title Block's field.

However, you can create the note in the Sheet Area (not Sheet Format) and attach to Assembly's component and use the same "Link To Property" functionality but specify "Component to which the annotation is attached" so you will be able to select the Custom property from the Component.

But I've found no way to move this annotation to Sheet Format Area to add directly to title block.

Thanks,
Artem

It looks like the Annotation isn't attached to a component ... there's no leader.

That would do it. Thanks guys.

RE: Linking title block with properties from different parts

Hmmm ... maybe not. I just tried adding a note without selecting a component, and the "Component to which the annotation is attached" option was available even when no view was in focus.
